The Catalan giants have long been connected with a transfer for Philippe Coutinho as they acknowledge a future without Spanis midfielder Andres Iniesta. The process have been going more seriously after their Brazilian forward Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record deal.

Liverpool rejected back three massive Barcelona bids though and Coutinho saw a transfer offer declined by Anfield bosses in August. However, Barcelona are still trying to make the move for the Brazilian and will make another bid after the transfer window opens.

However, the recent stories from Spain advise that message is not going down well with everyone at the Nou Camp.

According to Diario Gol, the Catalan’s midfielder Rakitic sees Coutinho’s possible entry as a huge threat to his playing time.

And he’s supposedly told Barcelona’s ace Messi that: “if Coutinho comes I’m going”.

Rakitic is on the target of Serie A sides and wants to be among the players in Croatia’s team in 2018 World Cup.

Barcelona are eager to welcome Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho in the January transfer window. And they will reportedly monitor offers for him and take any that match their estimate.

Coutinho must first arrive to take Rakitic’s place in Ernesto Valverde’s midfield though.

Barcelona chief Josep Maria Bartomeu believes that an agreement for Coutinho can be finalized in January. Barca are hesitating to give Sergi Roberto in part-exchange so that they will have to pay £124m for the Liverpool talisman.
