Arsenal have agreed to sell their midfielder Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and have accepted the £40 million deal from the other Premier League Club Liverpool.
Chamberlain, who previously rejected the offer from the defending champion Chelsea, will move to Anfield on a 5-year contract worth £120,000 a week. He rejected the offer worth around £180,000 by Arsenal to extend his contract with the club.
The English midfielder will have the medical on Thursday before moving to Malta with England National Team on International break.
The transfer fee is the highest amount Liverpool have paid for any player till now but will be suppressed the next year as they have agreed to £48 million deal for RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita. The Reds are also willing to buy Monaco’s Thomas Lemar as their top-rated forward Philippe Coutinho has been the main target of Spanish side Barcelona.
Liverpool have already signed 3 players; Mohamed Salah from Roma for £34 million, striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea on a free transfer and full-back Andrew Robertson from Hull for £8 million.
